Supreme Court chief launches legal rights centre | Bangkok Post: news

(Photo by Pattarapong Chatpattarasill)The Centre for Rights and Liberties Protection in criminal cases has been officially launched in a bid to protect the rights of people involved in criminal cases. Supreme Court president Weerapon Tangsuwan said the centre was set up to provide people with access to justice. The event was attended by Athikom Intuputi, secretary-general of the Office of the Judiciary; Suphat Suthimanut, chief of judges at the Criminal Court, the court's executives and state officers. The main objective of the Centre for Rights and Liberties Protection is to defend fundamental rights and freedoms, Mr Weerapon said.
